If you are travelling by train you will need to arrange a ticket to St Austell station where we can arrange for you to be met by reliable taxi. If you need to use London stations there is a direct line from Paddington Station operated mostly by Great Western trains.

There is an airport at Newquay with links to London. For those who fly in from the continent there are airports in Plymouth, Bristol and Exeter from where you would need to hire a car or use train services to St Austell. If you end up at Newquay airport you can hire a car to explore the county.

Travelling by car is becoming increasingly easy with the A30 opening access to Cornwall. From the A30 Innis Downs roundabout take the first exit signposted St Austell. We recommend that you follow a route towards Mevagissey taking the B3273 from St Austell. Drive 5 miles along this road from St Austell, through London Apprentice and past Pentewan. The road takes you into Mevagissey – be warned narrow streets! Follow the one way system until you have the Ship Inn on your right – keep going up the hill and the road takes you through a housing estate down into Portmellon where the sea meets the road and the Rising Sun Inn is on your left. Turn right following the road around the bay and up the hill around a sharp left hand bend. The entrance to Bodrugan is 100m straight ahead. Come another 100m right down to the farmhouse.

Recommended For those of you who do not wish to tackle the narrow streets of Mevagissey there is an alternative route. After passing Pentewan you drive along a series of bends and at the top of the hill you reach a crossroads. At the crossroads turn right signposted Heligan Gardens and Gorran. Follow this road, past Heligan Gardens on the left and continue until you reach Gorran Churchtown. Drive through the village then turn left to Portmellon. About two miles out of Gorran you will come to a grass triangle on the right hand side (before a steep hill that goes down into Portmellon). The entrance to Bodrugan is here – continue 100m down into the farmyard and you will see the farmhouse behind a turning circle.
